We are underwater engineers, confined space
and marine pollution specialists and pride ourselves
on being able to offer the
technical base, resources and expertise to
provide a high quality, safety conscious and
cost effective service.
We are members of the Association of Diving
Contractors, approved contractors to the
Ministry of Defence, various Utility companies
and are members of Constructionline.
E.D.S has practical experience in all aspects
of marine engineering, whether it is from a boat
or on the seabed we cover all aspects of our
industry.
We offer a wide range of services not just
diving, but mechanical engineering facilities,
coded welders, explosive advice, marine and
civil engineering.
Our equipment register is extensive with
numerous underwater cameras, a highly
capable ROV, ultrasonic thickness monitors,
welding and burning equipment, various boats
and rescue craft.
We have also partnered up with a number of
specialist consultancies for cathodic protection,
structural or diving surveys and have no limits
to where we travel.
Commercial Diving
Edwards Diving Services are a well established commercial diving and engineering company who are members of the Association of Diving Contractors, members of Constructionline and are registered with the Health & Safety Executive.
We specialise in underwater engineering and are experienced in the following:
Underwater Welding and Burning

We have coded welders, who were welders before they were trained as divers and are extremely versatile in welding almost anything underwater. We also have experience in underwater burning using Broco Ultrathermic cutting equipment. E.D.S. are able to repair or install a wide range of metallic elements.
Underwater Inspections
In depth underwater and above water inspections are one of our specialties with detailed written and video reports as part of the service. Having had experience in inspecting different marine structures ranging from bridges to tidal barrages, lock gates to retaining walls, jetties, dolphins, moorings and more; we can plan and execute thorough inspections of complex structures in the most challenging environments.
For inspections that require compliance with relevant codes or standards, we have a Civil Engineer who is also an experienced commercial diver, who understands the requirements of specific inspections such as general and principle bridge inspections.
Underwater Concrete Repairs
E.D.S. have worked on numerous projects involving underwater concrete repairs, from power stations to river walls; and bridges to culverts. Using a number of different formwork configurations, including the commonly used MEVA panel system, and often involving complex formations. We also have experience in the use of underwater concrete in environments which contain high concentrations of corrosive chemicals, and have contacts with companies who supply high grade concrete and linings to suit any environment.
Marine Construction
Fro
m concrete repairs to replacing mooring chains, rebuilding river walls to installing penstock valves; E.D.S. have a wide range of specialised staff with vast knowledge spanning many fields of work. We are able to manufacture and install almost anything to your specification and requirements. We are also able to demolish marine structures where required.
Cathodic Protection
We have practical and specialist experience in impressed current cathodic protection systems and sacrificial anode systems. We have worked on numerous cathodic protection projects and are able to carry out surveys to ensure the cathodic protection system is functioning to its full capabilities.
Non Destructive Testing
We have the capability to carry out NDT as part of an inspection, using equipment such as our Cygnus underwater ultrasonic thickness meter and Bathycorrometer for polarisation, corrosion and interaction surveys. The data obtained from surveys of this type can then be related to current standards and historical information to provide additions to reports like corrosion trends and predictions.
Salvage and Recovery

From moorings, boats and vessels, to industrial equipment, E.D.S. has practical experience in search and recovery in a range of challenging environments; often with nil visibility. We aim to recover our targets in the best possible condition.
Our experience covers a wide range of services in a variety of locations. If you have any queries regarding any of the above or if you are unable to find what you are looking for please do not hesitate in contacting us on 029 2086 2020 or via e-mail on sales@edwardsdivingservices.co.uk
