Bantam Tug Salvage

During March 2010, we were called to the River Avon to raise a 10 tonne Bantam Tug boat that had sunk whilst towing a Canal Boat upstream.

The first job was to tow the sunken vessel downstream as it was obstructing a busy jetty. EDS Divers descended to the river bed and attached several air bags under the hull of the tug boat raising it off the river bed allowing us to tow the boat using our Pioneer work boat.

We then attached more air bags to raise the gunnels above the water line before pumping the water out enabling the vessel to be self buoyant once more. One final tow using our work boat and we were able to moor the tug boat for the owner to collect.
