Who we are
E.D.S is a well established marine contractor.
We are underwater engineers, confined space
and marine pollution specialists and pride ourselves
on being able to offer the
technical base, resources and expertise to
provide a high quality, safety conscious and
cost effective service.
We are members of the Association of Diving
Contractors, approved contractors to the
Ministry of Defence, various Utility companies
and are members of Constructionline.
E.D.S has practical experience in all aspects
of marine engineering, whether it is from a boat
or on the seabed we cover all aspects of our
industry.
We offer a wide range of services not just
diving, but mechanical engineering facilities,
coded welders, explosive advice, marine and
civil engineering.
Our equipment register is extensive with
numerous underwater cameras, a highly
capable ROV, ultrasonic thickness monitors,
welding and burning equipment, various boats
and rescue craft.
We have also partnered up with a number of
specialist consultancies for cathodic protection,
structural or diving surveys and have no limits
to where we travel.
Safety Rescue
For the last 5 years EDS have been regular visitors to a small steel making town in Italy called Piombino. Every year the blast furnace at the local steelworks requires relining. Our role during the relining process is to supply breathing air to the team spraying the inside of the furnace, and act as a safety rescue team supplied with full rescue breathing apparatus in the event of an emergency. This can entail supplying breathing air to people entering the blast furnace or to people located outside of the blast furnace where the carbon monoxide level are dangerously high. During our time on site we are the designated first aiders and have had to administer life saving first aid and oxygen in previous years.
In addition to our work in Italy we were contracted for a similar job in Tula, Russia; after being spotted carrying out our work in Piombino.
