Culvert Clean-Up in Blaenau Gwent Showcases Teamwork, Grit and EDS Expertise
Our inspectors have been out in Blaenau Gwent supporting a major clean-up effort for Blaenau Gwent County Borough Council.
Mike Bond’s Civil Engineering Team put in a huge effort to tackle a heavily blocked culvert that had built up several tonnes of debris over time. The conditions were tight, messy and physically demanding, but everyone on site went above and beyond to get the job done safely and efficiently.
Clearing the blockage meant handballing stones, silt and other debris straight out of the culvert and into skips so the flow path could be properly restored.
Mike summed it up perfectly: “Culverts like this are hidden from everyday view, but when they block, the impact can be huge. The EDS team rolled up their sleeves and got stuck in – proper teamwork, and a great job all round.”
Watch the below video for a look at how our team tackles culvert inspections using internal laser scanning to capture every detail, and the 3D modelling we produce to show condition, alignment and any hidden defects. It’s a clear example of the inspection and reporting service we provide to help keep assets safe, compliant and functioning as they should.
