Ed Smart and Morgan Power Achieve ADC Diving Supervisor Qualification
There’s been a good reason to celebrate within the Edwards Diving Services team this month. Ed Smart, Project Manager, and Morgan Power, Diving Supervisor, have both successfully passed their ADC Diving Supervisor qualification – a significant step forward in their commercial diving careers.
The qualification is awarded by the Association of Diving Contractors (ADC) – the UK’s recognised trade body representing commercial diving contractors and setting high standards for safety, professionalism, and competence across the industry. Achieving this certification is an important milestone for any commercial diver progressing into a supervisory role.
Before divers are even put forward for the ADC Supervisor examination, they must first complete at least 200 logged commercial dives. Passing the exam demonstrates that a diver has the knowledge, practical understanding, and leadership capability required to safely supervise complex commercial diving operations.
We are particularly proud that both Ed and Morgan represent homegrown talent within the company. They are divers who have grown with the business from the early stages of their careers, developing their skills and experience through hands-on projects across the UK. Supporting that progression, and investing in people who have shown commitment and capability, remains a key part of how the company builds its team.
“With Morgan and I both achieving the ADC Supervisor qualification, it’s a really positive step for the team,” said Ed. “It takes a lot of dives and experience to get to this point, so it’s great to reach that milestone. EDS has supported us from the start, and it’s rewarding to now be in a position where we can help lead more dive teams and support projects across the UK.”
This achievement reflects our continued commitment to safety, professional development, and maintaining the high operational standards expected within the commercial diving industry.
Congrats to Morgan and Ed!
