Edwards Diving Services Shortlisted for Ground Engineering Award for Nant Morlais Project
The Nant Morlais culvert repair project has been shortlisted for a 2026 Ground Engineering Award, placing Edwards Diving Services alongside some of the UK’s most recognised contractors.
The annual awards, run by Ground Engineering magazine, celebrate outstanding achievement across the sector – recognising innovation, technical excellence, and the people behind complex engineering projects. This year’s shortlist highlights work delivered between January 2025 and January 2026.
Edwards Diving Services has been shortlisted in the ‘UK Project with a Geotechnical Value of between £500K and £1M’ category for its work on the Nant Morlais culvert repair in South Wales.
The project followed the collapse of a historic culvert beneath a residential area near Merthyr Tydfil, requiring urgent stabilisation and a complex permanent repair. Despite challenging conditions and time pressures, the team delivered a solution combining civil engineering, geotechnical design, and specialist access expertise.
“It’s great to see this project recognised, especially alongside some big names in the industry,” said Steve Richings, Commercial Director. “Nant Morlais wasn’t a straightforward job, so it’s a really positive result for everyone involved.”
The category includes major organisations such as Bachy Soletanche, BAM Ground Engineering, Mott MacDonald Bentley, and Kier, highlighting the strength of the competition.
The awards ceremony will take place in June, where the final winners will be announced – good luck to everyone involved.
