Civil & Marine Engineering covers a vast array of engineering services. For E.D.S. the common theme linking these services is that they are usually required within difficult access or difficult environments. This is where E.D.S. excels.
We have completed major projects within challenging environments such as:
- Rebuilding a sea defence wall within the tidal range on a beach foreshore
- Installing our internally designed and manufactured isolation plug for a large power station at the base of a 30m cooling water system
- Recasting a highways culvert base (invert) 130m from the access without diverting the watercourse
- Protecting over 100 piles of a large Victorian pier with concrete encasement without closing to the public.
Sometimes diving only represents a baseline from which we operate, it can be merely the means of access. Once the work location is reached, different arrays of skills are required:
Engineering Inspection Services, which include structural, civil and industrial process wherever they are required, subsurface, subterranean, confined space, above water, even internal processes, we have the capability to provide a professional detailed inspection.
In House Design & Fabrication department facilitates our ability to provide bespoke services and solutions for our clients. Installation, repair and removal of submerged structures requires cutting, burning, welding with specialist equipment.
Submerged civil repairs using underwater concrete, natural cement and precast structures.
Submerged Structural Protection installation and maintenance, methods of such vary greatly from simple scour deflection plates, to concrete encasement, cathodic protection and more recently “denso” wrapping.
Installation of stoplogs for hydropower station intake
